We're working with a high growth, global life sciences industry client based in Princeton, NJ to hire a Director of Compensation and Benefits. The Director will report to the company's Global Head of Compensation and Benefits, and will manage a team of 3; 2 benefits professionals and 1 compensation professional. This role will be charged with owning all aspects of US compensation and benefits for the company with an emphasis on plan design and enhancements in the face of rapid scaling.

This company just surpassed 1200 employees globally with plans to hire another 600 in 2022, as they move towards launching and commercialization of their products independently, in lieu of reliance on partnerships to that end. The company has organically grown from 150 employees to 1200, and will continue to realize scaling in the same manner. This is an upgrade for a previous Manager role which was recently vacated. There is an existing framework in place - career architecture, grading system, compensation planning processes, promotion process, a competitive benefits plan - upon which more sophisticated programs will be built. But there's still so much more to do including the build out of the compensation structure for the commercial organization which did not exist last year, revising their 401K plan, adding a profit sharing and a non-qualified SERP plan, and implementing wellness plans, to name a few.

Our client is seeking candidates with a minimum of 5 years of compensation and benefits experience with an emphasis on plan design, prior team leadership, and proven experience in the life sciences sector. An entrepreneurial spirit is key for success. Workday and equity compensation experience would be a plus. There is a hybrid working model in place at the company with a great deal of latitude to make smart decisions as to when to work onsite and when to work from home, but one can expect to work onsite ~50% of the time.
