RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide support to key business development initiatives
  • Assist the BD Manager and members of the Marketing team in developing and executing the firm's industry teams, practice, and resource group's strategic plans and projects, including the tracking and follow-up of specific efforts
  • Coordinate marketing and business development projects, as assigned, taking ownership of key tasks from inception through implementation
  • Assist BD Managers in the development and execution of client-facing programming, including webinars and other programs
  • Participate in practice and the resource group and industry team meetings and assist in executing and reporting on business development goals, action items, and ROI, as needed
  • Assist the BD managers and director in business development planning by conducting research, including:
    • Industry trends and issues that may impact upon clients' and prospects' businesses, and recommend actions to capitalize on them; and Identify needs of clients and prospects that the firm can meet and suggest possible business development approaches
    • Support the research, drafting, and production of materials for client meetings/interviews
    • Conduct marketing research in preparation for client and prospect meetings, pitches/proposals, and other business development initiatives, including comprehensive attendee reports for conferences
    • Assist with blogs, legal updates and other publications and invitations to client-facing programs
    • Assist with the creation and follow-up of webinars and external sponsorships
    • Help field and assist with general marketing information requests from attorneys and staff as needed
    • Assist BD Managers to evaluate, monitor and track existing business development plans/efforts on an ongoing basis to ensure deadlines are met and commitments kept
    • Collaborate with other business development, marketing, and communications team members

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2+ years of business development, sales, marketing, or writing experience in a law firm or other professional services firm environment, or experience as a practicing attorney or in another similar legal industry role required
  • Strong project management skills/ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (email, telephone, and in-person) as well as editing skills
