We're partnering with a growing media production company headquartered in Los Angeles to hire a VP/SVP, Compensation. This VP/SVP will report to a newly appointed CHRO who is charged with the maturation of HR from a tactical support function to that of a strategic business partner. Compensation philosophy and infrastructure are lacking at the moment and this individual will work closely with the CHRO, other C-suite leaders, and a variety of internal and external stakeholders to create a Compensation Center of Excellence.

This is a stand alone leadership role, with the potential to manage a Benefits Manager and evolve into a Total Rewards leadership role. You will be one of seven HR professionals supporting a population of 750 employees, most of whom are based in California. In this role, you will work with the senior leadership to define the compensation philosophy, develop job families and determine compensation levels based on survey and market data, develop the compensation module in ADP Workforce Now and/or other compensation software programs, and advise the CHRO and other stakeholders on all compensation matters. Our client needs a player coach who is equally comfortable with hands-on execution as well as strategic advisement on all matters related to compensation.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in compensation management and administration, with experience in benefits design being a plus. Experience gained in an academy company followed by more recent experience building out or maturing the compensation function would be of strong interest. Entertainment industry experience would also be a plus. Our client is seeking someone with expertise across all aspects of compensation design from broad-based to incentive, equity, executive, and sales compensation.
